Unraveling The Mystery: The How and Why?
I grew up in a small town in India and ended up in California in search of a career and a purpose, initially to do my master's. Life always nudged me in the right direction, and I have been lucky to meet people who had the most impact on my life. I indulged in life and wore my heart on my sleeve.
I started a job after graduation and grew into an impactful role in the company. However, I quickly realized I needed to be spending my time in a job or career different from sitting in front of the computer and in meeting rooms discussing business. I wanted to work more with people and directly impact their lives.
I started to feel an urge to quit and do some soul-searching. Yoga was already part of my fitness regimen and my life. It was the only thing that felt like home, closer to my true self. I immediately joined a training program to dive deeper into the practice and have never looked back since my first class in LA.
The experiences that led me to yoga, the training, and the people I met made me quickly realize that more people needed yoga in their lives. There was a familiarity in the kind of life I had led. I cherished conversations with people, writing letters, cheering them on, being a loyal friend, and being there for anyone who needed me. I was born a rebel, but not without a cause. Everything I started learning about yogic lifestyles, history, and philosophy paralleled my life.
I was thrilled and excited to start my journey as a yoga teacher. There was always a calling to move back home, and it was strongest now to teach and reintroduce the forgotten art of the yogic lifestyle to people who are on a similar path as mine in India.
I quickly realized how disconnected we are with ourselves, spending less time on self-enquiry, unlearning, and questioning our conditioning to improve the quality of life. My journey to fitness and a spiritual life is about enhancing the quality of life. If there is only enough time for one habit in your life to have the maximum impact on your wellness, I highly recommend adopting the yogic lifestyle.
I moved back, before I started teaching, I got few more certification to learn deeper understanding of anatomy, sequencing, philosophy, spiritual practices to find deeper depths of the practice. The burning desire to spread this knowledge and wisdom kept growing as I dived more to this vast realm of knowledge.
It is been more than 2 years of teaching. I started building this website and platform to support people from the comfort of their home. My asana classes are a mix of strong vinyasa and functional movements. There is a spectrum of poses and class levels I offer according to what my students need. I continue my learning as a student of yoga; it is a never-ending process to gain knowledge to teach and support my own spiritual practices.
My classes structure include meditation, philosophy and pranayama, is inspired by all my teachers and my own experience of integrating them in my life.
I love teaching yoga to new students, teaching the foundation of the poses, introducing new philosophies, and variations of the same poses. I teach my class as an act of self-love, which I want to imbibe in my students too.
My goal
My absolute favorite thing about teaching yoga is seeing my students making a connection with themselves, reducing their stress, regulating their breath, and falling in love with self-care and self-love.
My goal is to reintroduce yoga as a lifestyle to everyone around me, creating awareness about simple holistic practices that are more impactful and get results.
If you are interested in being on this journey with me, don’t hesitate to reach out. I am always excited to meet yoga and life enthusiasts and share a conversation over a cup of coffee.
